A long time ago I had created an underground blast effect by just using the shatter plugin and the wiggle expression. I never thought that it was something that people wanted to see until I came across PSDTUTS and AETUTS where users could submit tutorials to people who needed them. I made sure that my idea was truly such before writing up a 22 step tutorial and submitting it to Envato.
Street Fighter IV has gotten it right with its opening cinematic by combinding 3d animation with after effects to create a vividly stunning motion graphics compositing piece. True to the game’s aesthetic, this motion graphics piece serves as a great example of visual inspiration.
What more of an appropriate time to show something like a Chinese New Year Motion Graphics piece. I found this while trolling YouTube (not my usual motion graphic haunt) but I came across this piece by urbancr3atures.
