Who is Megalongcat?

“Design is about ethical solutions to complex problems. It is never about following trends.”

Fred McCoy is a Communication Design and Technology specialist with his undergraduate degree from Parsons School of Design located in NYC. His field of expertise includes Corporate Branding, SEO Design, Front-End Web Development, Design Research, Ethical Design and Design Critique.

Fred’s background lies in design research, development, and implementation. At Parsons School of design his classes ranged from basic HTML/CSS programming to Global Design Studies and design strategy courses. He has spent a number of years doing corporate branding for major companies like BRGuest Restaurants who own New York City’s famous Primehouse, Ruby Foo’s, and Fiamma’s.

Fred’s unique, methodical, and intelligent approach to design sets him apart from other modern designers.

Research, Prototype, Implement, Observe, Repeat.

Fred’s design and marketing process has seen him great results for R.A.G. New York clothing, Blue Fountain Media, Singapore Specialists, and Logic Jets. With a clear understanding of major web based programming languages Fred is able to communicate between designers and programmers to create functional and powerful results that clients need.

Always make sure to have a clear understanding of every aspect behind the project you’re in charge of. If you’re designing a web page for an urban clothing company you need to understand your clientele beyond their fashion tastes. You should know their age group, what music they like, where they go online, and anything else which helps create a target consumer/audience. This process applies to corporate branding and social media. Know who you’re going after, why you’re going after them, and how to get them interested in what it is you have to offer through human, ethical, and holistic methodology.
